隨著中國(guó)經(jīng)濟(jì)的發(fā)展,金融行業(yè)逐漸成為賺錢(qián)的行業(yè)之一。而出國(guó)留學(xué)讀金融專(zhuān)業(yè)也成為中國(guó)學(xué)生和家長(zhǎng)選擇的熱門(mén)專(zhuān)業(yè)之一。那么金融專(zhuān)業(yè)到底是學(xué)什么呢?申請(qǐng)人應(yīng)該具備哪些素質(zhì)與技能呢?許多人心里還是一個(gè)大大的問(wèn)號(hào)。
從學(xué)術(shù)角度來(lái)講:金融專(zhuān)業(yè)是以融通貨幣和貨幣資金的經(jīng)濟(jì)活動(dòng)為研究對(duì)象,具體研究個(gè)人、機(jī)構(gòu)、政府如何獲取、支出以及管理資金以及其他金融資產(chǎn)的學(xué)科專(zhuān)業(yè),是從經(jīng)濟(jì)學(xué)中分化出來(lái)的。主要研究現(xiàn)代金融機(jī)構(gòu)、金融市場(chǎng)以及整個(gè)金融經(jīng)濟(jì)的運(yùn)動(dòng)規(guī)律。該專(zhuān)業(yè)具體研究?jī)?nèi)容包括:關(guān)于銀行與證券、保險(xiǎn)等非銀行金融機(jī)構(gòu)的理論與實(shí)務(wù),關(guān)于貨幣市場(chǎng)、資本市場(chǎng)與國(guó)際金融市場(chǎng)的理論與實(shí)務(wù),關(guān)于金融宏觀(guān)調(diào)控及整個(gè)金融經(jīng)濟(jì)的理論與實(shí)務(wù),以及關(guān)于金融管理特別是金融風(fēng)險(xiǎn)管理的理論與實(shí)務(wù)。
也許你還是不清楚,那從通俗的角度來(lái)說(shuō)明:金融早源起于經(jīng)濟(jì)學(xué),屬于經(jīng)濟(jì)學(xué)的一個(gè)分支,但后來(lái),隨著金融學(xué)的發(fā)展,逐漸發(fā)展成為一個(gè)獨(dú)立的學(xué)科。西方金融學(xué)宏觀(guān)上分為公司財(cái)務(wù)和投資學(xué)兩個(gè)方向。隨著時(shí)間的發(fā)展,在過(guò)去幾十年的時(shí)間里邊,金融學(xué)里面又出現(xiàn)了交叉學(xué)科,特別典型的就是金融工程學(xué),F(xiàn)inancial Engineering。從金融學(xué)的發(fā)展來(lái)講,漸漸偏向計(jì)算機(jī)化、數(shù)學(xué)化、工程化,所以其實(shí)從某種角度上來(lái)講,金融工程特別像精算。可以這么講,在金融學(xué)領(lǐng)域如果不具備數(shù)學(xué),數(shù)學(xué)模型和計(jì)算機(jī)化的金融工程的專(zhuān)業(yè)知識(shí),是無(wú)法從事比較復(fù)雜的金融方面的交易,金融工具的產(chǎn)生,使金融交易越來(lái)越復(fù)雜化,越來(lái)越數(shù)學(xué)化,越來(lái)越計(jì)算機(jī)化。
畢業(yè)于金融專(zhuān)業(yè)的同學(xué),日后可以在證券交易所,期權(quán)交易所,基金理財(cái)公司,風(fēng)險(xiǎn)投資公司以及各種銀行和監(jiān)管部門(mén)工作。用數(shù)學(xué)的方式解決現(xiàn)實(shí)中的問(wèn)題,將可能會(huì)發(fā)生風(fēng)險(xiǎn)的機(jī)率降到低,終實(shí)現(xiàn)無(wú)風(fēng)險(xiǎn)的收益率??梢?jiàn)對(duì)于從業(yè)者來(lái)說(shuō),這是一個(gè)對(duì)于專(zhuān)業(yè)技能要求極高的一個(gè)工作。會(huì)計(jì)是一個(gè)比較具有專(zhuān)業(yè)性技能的專(zhuān)業(yè),而金融工程和金融分析是比會(huì)計(jì)更加專(zhuān)業(yè)化的一個(gè)學(xué)科。所以對(duì)于數(shù)學(xué)基礎(chǔ)較弱的學(xué)生,選擇金融專(zhuān)業(yè)的時(shí)候還是需要慎重一些。

1.一篇不超過(guò)500 words的Statement of Purpose.
先不要著急竊喜只需要寫(xiě)500字就夠了,再來(lái)看下這500字需要涵蓋的內(nèi)容:
A.How did you become interested in this field??Establish that you have had a long-term interest in the field and that you have taken positive steps in pursuing your interest. Give the committee members a sense of your particular talents and abilities and their relevance to your academic interests.
你是怎么變得對(duì)這個(gè)領(lǐng)域感興趣的?闡述自己一步步是怎樣追求自己的興趣的。展現(xiàn)出你獨(dú)特的天賦和能力。
B. What experiences have contributed toward your preparation for further study in this field??Demonstrate your interest by providing examples of research experiences, internships, work experience, community service, publications, or life experiences. Briefly describe what you did in each experience. Also, make sure to articulate what you have learned about the field and how those lessons stimulated you to pursue an advanced degree.
是什么樣的一個(gè)經(jīng)歷,促使你要繼續(xù)學(xué)習(xí)這一領(lǐng)域??梢詮难芯拷?jīng)驗(yàn),實(shí)習(xí),工作經(jīng)驗(yàn)等方面寫(xiě),表明你已經(jīng)學(xué)到了哪些東西。

C. What are your future goals??Specifically state your degree objective (Master's or Ph.D.) and specify what subdisciplines you are interested in pursuing. For example, if you are applying in political science, the committee needs to know whether you are pursuing American Politics, Comparative Politics, International Relations, or Political Theory. Let the reader know that you are planning a future career as a university professor, researcher, or consultant, or in public service or private practice (or whatever your goal happens to be).

D. What are your research interests??Within your subdiscipline, you should be able to identify one or two topics that are of interest to you. When possible, be specific about your research agenda. Remember that you will be working with professors in research; therefore, your research interests should parallel those of the faculty. (You will usually not be expected to know exactly what you want to research; faculty know that initial interests often change.)

E. How are you a "match" for the program to which you are applying??Explain what attracts you most to the institution/program to which you are applying. Align your research interests with those of one or more of the affiliated professors. The better the "match" with the program/professors, the better the chance that you will be admitted.
你認(rèn)為申請(qǐng)的這個(gè)專(zhuān)業(yè)跟你為什么是契合的?
Other factors to weave in (remember these are secondary factors):
Give examples of personal attributes or qualities that would help you complete graduate study successfully.
Describe your determination to achieve your goals, your initiative and ability to develop ideas, and your ability to work independently.
Describe background characteristics that may have placed you at an educational disadvantage (English language learner, family economic history, lack of educational opportunity, disability, etc.).
Leave the reader believing that you are prepared for advanced academic work and will be successful in graduate school.
除了以上五點(diǎn)外,學(xué)校還列出了其他一些你可以加入的要素,你的個(gè)人能力怎樣可以幫助你完成學(xué)業(yè),也可以講出自己在某些地方的不足。讓讀者相信你可以已經(jīng)做好準(zhǔn)備讀書(shū),并且可以成功畢業(yè)。
